Cancer Hospital & Research Institute has the privilege of hosting AGICON 2018 on Nov 16th to Nov 18th to welcome the galaxy of eminent speaker and distinguish delegates of National & International fame in the historical Musical city of Gwalior.

Thaker (USA), Dr. S Guntupalli (USA), Dr. Carolyn Lefkowits (USA) shared their experience that will accelerate the practice of Medical, Surgical & Radiation Oncology This conference boosted by a live operative workshop on Laparoscopic & other Gynaecology Oncology Surgical Procedures on 16.11.2018. Live Gynaecology Oncology Surgeries were done by National eminent faculties namely Dr. Rama Joshi (Gurgaon), Dr U.D Bafna (Bangalore), Dr. T S Rao (Hyderadabad).

There were live interactive sessions during workshop, where budding oncologist had their queries solved with experienced oncosurgeon from India and abroad. A workshop on preventive Oncology Colposcopy & Cervical Pathology was Conducted along with case discussions. Dr. Kasturi Lal(Mumbai), Dr. Amita Maheshwari(Mumbai), Dr. Shalini Rajaram (Delhi), Dr. Somshekhar (Manipal), Dr. Uma Singh (Luckhnow), Dr. P.K Shekhran(Calicutt), Dr. Sushil K Giri (Orissa), Dr. Abraham Peedicayil (Vellore),Dr. S.B.L Shrivastava(Gwalior), Dr B. R Shrivastav (Gwalior) enlighten delegates to provide high quality & compassionate care to women with Ovarian Uterine Cervical & Valval Cancer. Dr. Shakuntala Chabbra was honoured with Life Time Achievement Award for her Dynamic work in Female Healthcare.

Prof. Dr. R S Sharma (Vice Chancellor), MP Medical Science University, Jabalpur was Chief Guest Inaugural function said that “Cancer is Not the End of Life we should accept it and treat along with happiness”. Prof. Dr. Sangeeta Shukla (Vice Chancellor), Jiwaji university, Gwaliorwas Guest of Honour Inaugural Function was concerned about the increasing burden of Gynaecology Cancer worldwide & need of higher quality of care to women with Gynaecology Cancer.

Prof. Dr B. R Shrivastav (Gwalior) Cancer Hospital & Research Institute as an Organizing Chairman showed immense pleasure that this conference would open up new vistas of Knowledge & Information for alleviating the problems of the people of our country. Dr. Archana Shrivastava(Gwalior) & Dr. Garima Diwan(Gwalior)coordinated the inaugural function in Shitla Sahai Auditorium in very systematic way. Various Gynaecologic Oncologists, Medical Students has presented their research papers from all over the Country in the conference.

Dr Rama Joshi(Gurgaon) presented the data regarding the burden of Gynae Oncology Cancer in India & emphasise the importance of Gynaecology Oncology as a sub speciality within the discipline of obstetrics of Gynaecology. Dr. Rajendra Kerkar(Mumbai), Dr. Janmejaya Mohapatra (Cuttack), Dr. Amish Dalal(Mumbai) highlighted that Ovarian cancer is next lethal gynaecologic malignancy. During the last two decades there has been only marginal improvement in 5 years’ overall survival. Full day various discussions by senior experienced oncologist were done and dilemma in treatment were solved. Dr. Sudheep Gupta(Mumbai), Dr. Manas Biswas(Delhi), & Dr. Ashima Mukhopadhaya (Kolkata) were moderator of advance in Ovarian Cancer,management of an Adenaxl mass ,diagnostic & Therapeutic Dilemmas in rare Ovarian Tumourrespectively. Dr. Sanket Mehta (Mumbai) & other Medical oncologist highlighted recent research in the field of chemotherapeutic agents and the role of HIPEC in treatment of ovarian cancer.Carcinoma endometrium incidence is increasing now a days. Dr. Ranu Patni & Dr. Vineeta Goyal highlighted regarding surgical Management & Adjuvant Therapy in Endometrial Cancer. Dr. Sushil K Giri (Orissa), Dr. Abraham Peedicayil (Vellore), Dr. Rupendra Shekhon coordinated the Tumour board.

The Oncologist discussed in detail the role of imaging, sentinal lymph node biopsy, surgery & adjuvant treatment for Breast Cancer. Dr. Sabana Praveen (Bangaladesh), Dr. K Sulatana(Gwalior) commented that cervical Cancer has been established as the 2nd most common cancer among female worldwide. Cervical Cancer is the serious health problem specially in developing countries.Dr. Shalini Rajaram(Delhi) highlighted regarding optimum screening strategy for developing countries. A debate between Dr. Shylasree TS, Dr Yogesh Kulkurani for “Minimal Invasive Surgery for Cervical Cancer should be abandoned” was held. Dr. Umesh mahantshetty highlighted about management of locally advance cervical Cancer. Dr. Nisha Singh(Lucknow) Dr. P K Shekhran (Calicutt) shared their experience in the diagnosis & management of Gestation Trophoblastic Tumour.
